Deadgoat Giver 8er Enduro

8 hours of pain and suffering didn’t exactly pan out for me, or Ken, this weekend. Ken needs to learn how to ride a mountain bike again, while I pulled the plug early to save some energy for the dull drive back to Edmonton. Really though, I just need to lay off on the ‘suck’ – I admit it. The day started out cold with snow, drizzle and a ton of mud but there was still a great turn out – those mountain bikers sure are a hearty bunch, hahah… Deadgoat put on a great event for sure - Good times… Good times! I actually found it pretty amazing that racers kept hammering laps out given how slow and soft the course was. I mean it was slooow going and you were working for everything out there. I seriously gotta hand it to those that powered through for any longer than I did.

Hi guys, I’m sorry to read about your pain and suffering! Hope you get better shape soon and Ken, I hope your knee gets back to normal size really soon! :)
One question: are these weather conditions what we should prepare for for TransRockies? God, what did we get into? I want clear sky and 25 C (80 F) for 7 days!
Keep up the spirits, guys. I keep following every post, it’s great to read!

@Sam – Thanks buddy, although pretty stiff still, the knee is already starting to get some mobility back. A good sign!
@skelle – Believe it or not, the conditions in this video were waaayyy better than last years Transrockies. Apart from being a bit cool, after the first few laps the course wasn’t that bad at all (or so I was told).
Don’t worry though, this years Transrockies is going to be all sunshine, all the time – I guarantee it ;-)
Thanks to Deadgoat and to all the volunteers who made the 2010 Giver8r another sufferfest to remember!! (and to BowCycle who provide some awesome draw prizes – One of which I was lucky enough to go home with ;-)
