When I first ran across this contest on SpecializedRiders.com I couldn’t help but grin ear to ear… Now this was a contest I could get behind!

My first Stumpy

My first Stumpy

Sure I want a chance to rip around on a brand spankin’ new S-Works Stumpjumper FSR, I mean not only is it part of Specialized’s heritage, but it’s also part of mine – It was my first bike (I saved months for that baby!), it was my second bike, and despite a few relapses I’ve always found Specialized bikes to fit both me and my riding style perfectly. I’m currently riding an Epic on the dirt and a Tricross on the pavement.

But the bike wasn’t the only thing that intrigued me… I’ve always been an avid mountain biker, but this past year things have really ramped up for me. I was looking for a new challenge and it’s something that’s really lit a fire inside of me.

As I began training for the 2009 Transrockies, I found my love for cycling grow even deeper. I’m a mountain biker at heart, but the training needed required putting the rubber on the pavement as well. With that was born a new, fuller, more comprehensive relationship with my bikes.

My new Stumpy?

My new Stumpy?

I commute to work almost every day (I’m lucky enough to work for a very bike friendly company who provides us with bike lockers and showers), I hit the mountains almost every chance I get (usually a couple times a week) and being in Calgary, Canada doesn’t stop me from riding year ’round. The cold and snow is nothing a little low PSI and fat rubber can’t solve, as is evidenced by this movie ;-)

My Bikeridr teammate and I have been chronicling all our adventures and will continue to do so… We don’t win races by any means (yet ;-), but we’re always there to have a great time and cheer on the rest of the riders. Anything that gets people on bikes is something we can get behind. We made friends from around the world at the 2009 Transrockies and will continue to do so through the years and events to come!

From this blog, to Twitter and Facebook, I’m fluent in all things web and support my passion for cycling through it. Should I be privileged enough to become part of the Specialized Trail Crew you’ll give me, our local riders, and our loyal readers one more thing to love about cycling – The opportunity to support and get behind a brand that is obviously as passionate about cycling as we are!
